Technical specifications

Fields of application:

  • The energy resolution of the detector makes it possible to eliminate X-ray fluorescence from samples containing Fe or Co, whatever the acquisition geometry used (Bragg-Brentano, parallel beam, etc.);
  • The multi-layer mirror and radial Soller slits mean that massive, irregular samples can be studied with a parallel beam, without the need for polishing or grinding (non-destructive analysis). It is possible to envisage a fairly coarse spatial resolution (around a millimeter);
  • The multi-layer mirror, radial Soller slits and motorized table enable grazing incidence studies of thin-film samples;
  • It is also possible to perform X-ray reflectometry using the motorized table, multi-layer mirror and appropriate slits;
  • A support allows electrochemical cells to be installed for in situ or operando studies.

Equipped with a Cu anode tube, a second-generation Si stripe detector (“LynxEye XE”) and numerous accessories (motorized slit, multi-layer parabolic mirror, motorized XYZ table…), this θ/θ geometry device is highly versatile.
