Both stands feature a motorized Z-axis enabling extended focus and 3D images. Whatever zoom lens is installed, they can acquire series of images for reprocessing in extended focus or 3D.
Both allow reflection or transmission, with different light orientations and diffusers, and can be fitted with light-diffusing polarizers. They are versatile tools for a wide range of materials and applications.
A first stand, with motorized Z axis and manual X and Y axes, features a zoom range from x500 to x5000.
The second one can accommodate two zoom lenses: one covering x20 to x200 and the other x100 to x1000. It has three motorized X, Y and Z axes, so it can map large areas by assembling several images. This mapping mode can be combined with extended focus (widening the depth of field) or 3D acquisition.
This image was produced on a Keyence digital microscope (Z20 objective) using 2D stitching. This is a wall cross-section produced by wire-arc additive manufacturing (martensitic 415 stainless steel), electrolytically etched with HF. We can see the 10 layers successively deposited on the substrate due to a different microstructure between each pass, as well as the hardness prints made beforehand.
