Lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries are an assembly of different components (current collectors, electrodes, electrolyte, separator), themselves made of different materials. An electrode, for example, consists of an electroactive material, an electronically conductive additive and a polymer binder.
The evaluation of a component or material consists of characterizing its battery performance, such as cyclability or charging speeds, possibly in comparison with a reference (a standard or the state of the art in the literature), up to a preliminary analysis of the causes of performance degradation (first verdict).
The PLASSMAT platform is equipped to manufacture electrodes, assemble button cell and pocket cell batteries, and measure their electrochemical performance.
