Evaluate a battery material or component (lithium-ion, sodium-ion...)

Lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries are assembled from different components (current collectors, electrodes, electrolyte, separator), themselves constituted of different materials. An electrode, for example, consists of an electroactive material, an electronically conductive additive and a polymer binder.

The evaluation of a component or material involves of characterizing its battery performance, such as cyclability or charging rates, possibly in comparison with a reference (a standard or the state of the art in the literature), up to a preliminary analysis of the causes of performance degradation (initial assessment).

The equipment of PLASSMAT platform enables: the manufacture of electrodes, the assembly of coin cell and pouch cell batteries, and the measurement of their electrochemical performance.
