Technical specifications

  • Sinusoidally modulated temperature ramp
  • Two cooling systems:
    • with liquid nitrogen: from -180°C to 550°C;
    • finned with air: from 20°C to 700°C;
  • Integrated mass flow controller;
  • High resolution DSC 0.4 µW.

The use of modulated DSC offers a number of advantages over conventional DSC:

  • Separation of thermal events when they overlap;
  • Optimization of sensitivity and resolution: sensitivity is improved by a high instantaneous heating rate (thanks to modulation) but resolution is maintained by a slow average heating rate;
  • Simple measurement of mass heat capacity (Cp).

These different techniques can be combined to observe mass variation and its associated thermal effect.
